부경대 전신 부산수산대 수산경영학과를 1990년 졸업한 한 씨는 “그동안 정신없이 사느라 잊고 지냈는데 최근 불현듯 대학시절 받은 그 선배님의 장학금이 생각나 나도 후배님에게 작은 금액이나마 장학금을 주기로 마음먹었다.”고 말했다. 그는 “그때 저에게 장학금을 주신 분은 당시 한성기업에 근무하시던 저희 학과 66학번 정오현 선배님.”이라면서, “부끄러운 이야기지만 최근 늦게나마 감사인사라도 드리려고 알아보니 안타깝게도 몇 년 전에 돌아가셨더라.”고 말했다. 한 씨는 대학졸업 후 동남은행에 입행한 후 주택은행, 국민은행에서 근무하다가 2011년부터 국민카드사에서 근무해왔다. 부경대는 한 씨의 희망에 따라 학과 후배 한 명에게 등록금(170만원)과 생활보조비로 학기마다 200만원씩 3차례 장학금을 지급할 예정이다. 인터뷰를 사양했던 그는 후배들에게 한 마디 해달라는 요청에도 “후배님들께 특별한 말을 할 정도로 잘난 인생은 아닌 것 같다.”며 거절하다 이렇게 말했다. “저희 아이들에게는 ‘천망회회 소이불루(天網恢恢 疎而不漏)’라는 말을 명심하라고 이야기한다.”고. 이 말은 ‘하늘의 그물이 몹시 엉성해 보이지만 아무리 작은 물고기도 빠져 나가지 못한다.’는 뜻이다. 자식들에게, 그리고 후배들에게 ‘우리 언제나 올바른 삶을 지향하자’는 당부일 것이다. <부경투데이> Good deeds seem to be turning.
