아시아 최고의 수산산업 박람회로 꼽히는 제17회 부산국제수산엑스포에 부경대도 참가해 수산 학문 마케팅에 나섰다.
이번 엑스포는 6일 오전 해운대 벡스코 1층에서 오거돈 부산시장, 김영섭 부경대학교 총장 등 주요 내빈들이 참석한 가운데 열린 개막식을 필두로 3일 동안 30개국 420개사가 1,200개 부스에서 수산식품과 수산기자재, 양식산업 등 수산산업의 다양한 제품과 산업동향을 선보인다.
부경대 수산과학대학은 박람회장 안에 대학 홍보부스를 마련, ‘수산 학문의 종가(宗家)’인 수산과학대학 홍보에 나섰다. 이날 행사장에는 수산과학대학 김형석 학장과 행정실 직원과 학생들이 출동해 부스를 꾸미고 홍보팸플릿, 기념엽서 등을 배부하면서 수산과학대학의 역사와 특‧장점, 미래 비전을 소개했다.

우리나라 수산과학의 메카인 부경대 수산과학대학은 해양생산시스템관리학부(해양생산학전공, 해양경찰학전공)를 비롯, 식품공학과, 해양바이오신소재학과, 해양수산경영학과, 수해양산업교육과, 자원생물학과, 식품영양학과, 생물공학과, 수산생명의학과 등 학부과정과 일반대학원, 글로벌수산대학원 및 수산과학연구원에서 차세대 수산 리더들이 21세기 수산·해양산업 발전을 위한 교육·연구 및 실험에 매진하고 있다.
김 학장은 “우리 졸업생들은 정부의 수산·해양행정의 정책입안 주도와 수산·해양관계 대학 및 연구소의 교수, 연구원 활동을 통해 우리나라 수산·해양산업의 발전을 선도하고 있다.”면서, “해양생명과학 등 수산·해양특성화 대학으로서 도전과 개척을 통해 수산·해양과학의 미래를 열어가는 사명을 다하고 있다.”고 강조했다.

            그는 “이번 박람회에 온 세계의 수산 리더들을 대상으로 우리 대학의 우수성을 적극 알려서 국내외 우수 학생이 많이 지원할 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다. 문의는 051-629-5803~9.
이와 함께 이날 박람회장의 해양관리협의회(MSC) 부스에서는 부경대 영남씨그랜트센터(센터장 이석모)가 뒷받침해 국제인증을 획득한 기장물산에 대한 ‘ASC-MSC 인증식’이 열려 눈길을 끌었다. (→ 상세 기사 보기 클릭!)

미래과학부 지정 연구소기업인 ㈜부경대학교 어간장연구소도 박람회 홍보전에 뛰어들었다. 이 회사는 우리나라 액젓 연구의 최고 권위자인 부경대 조영제 명예교수(식품공학과)가 만든 기업으로 우수한 품질과 상품성을 인정받고 있다는 점을 강조했다. 이번에 새롭게 선보인 고등어 어간장이 방문객들의 눈길을 끌었다. 문의는 051-629-6107.

부경대 수산가공연구센터(센터장 전병수)도 수산과학대학 옆에 부스를 마련했다. 센터는 해마다 모집하는 ‘수산업 전문가과정’ 홍보에 초점을 맞추었다.

            이 과정은 수산가공업 경영자 및 종사자들을 대상으로 선진수산동향 및 기술 재교육 등을 통해 부산지역 수산가공업 발전의 선도적 역할을 담당할 최고 수산전문인력 양성을 목표로 한다. 2020년 과정은 내년 4월 모집에 들어간다. 문의는 051-629-6101.   <부경투데이>

            'The future of fisheries science is our future' The fisheries exhibition of Pukyong National University 

            Opening of the 17th Busan Fisheries Expo on 6 th ... 420 companies from 30 countries participated
Pukyong National University participated in the 17th Busan International Fisheries Expo, one of the best fisheries trade fairs in Asia, and started marketing fisheries study.
The expo kicked off the opening ceremony on the 6th at the 1st floor of Haeundae BEXCO, with major guests including Busan Mayor Oh geo-don and Kim Young-seop, President of Pukyong National University. In three days, 420 companies from 30 countries will showcase various products and trends of the fisheries industry, including seafood, seafood, and aquaculture industries at 1,200 booths.
The University of Fisheries Sciences at Pukyong National University set up a public relations booth at the fair and promoted the University of Fisheries Sciences, which is the family of fisheries science. At the event, Dean Kim Hyung-Seok and the staff of the administration office and students attended the booth, decorated booths, distributed promotional pamphlets and memorial postcards, and introduced the history, specialty, advantages, and future vision of the College of Fisheries Science.
The College of Fisheries Science, Pukyong National University, a mecca of fisheries science in Korea has undergraduate courses including the Department of Marine Production System Management (Marine Production, Marine Police), Food Engineering, Marine Bio-Materials and Aquaculture, Marine & Fisheries Business and Economics, Fisheries Education, Marine Biology, Food Science and Nutrition, Biotechnology, and Aquatic Life Medicine. The next generation of fisheries leaders at the Graduate School, Graduate School of Global Fisheries and Fisheries Science Research Institute are dedicated to education, research and experimentation for the development of the fisheries and marine industry in the 21st century.
Dean Kim said, “Our graduates are leading the development of Korea's fisheries and marine industry through the government's decision-making on fisheries and marine administration and through the activities of professors and researchers at universities and research institutes. As a fisheries and marine specialization university including marine life sciences, we are committed to open the future of fisheries and marine sciences through challenge and pioneering.” 

            He said, “We will actively promote the excellence of our university to fisheries leaders from all over the world at this fair, so that we can try to support many excellent students at home and abroad.” Inquiries 051-629-5803~9.
At the same time, the ASC-MSC Certification Ceremony was held at the MSC booth at the fair, where it was supported by Pukyong National University's Yeungnam Sea Grant Center. (→ Click to view detailed article!)
Pukyong National University Fish Sauce Research Institute, a designated research institute of the Ministry of Future Sciences, also entered the exhibition. The company emphasized that it is a company made by honorary professor Jo Young-je (Dept. of Food Science and Technology), Pukyong National University, the highest authority of research of fish sauce in Korea. The newly introduced mackerel fish sauce caught the attention of visitors. Contact 051-629-6107.
Pukyong National University Fisheries Processing Research Center (CEO Jeon Byung-soo) also set up a booth next to the Fisheries Science College. The center focused on promoting the Fisheries Professional Course, which is recruited every year.
This course aims to cultivate the best fishery specialists who will play a leading role in the development of the fisheries processing industry in Busan through advanced fishery trends and technology retraining for fisheries processing industry managers and workers.
