국립부경대서 ‘향파 이주홍 특별전’ 열린다

- 창학 100주년 기념 특별 전시 … 30일까지 핵심역량도서관 갤러리

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)는 5월 13일 오후 핵심역량도서관 1층 갤러리 라운지에서 ‘향파 이주홍 특별전’ 개관행사를 열었다.

국립부경대는 올해 창학 100주년을 맞아 이주홍문학재단(이사장 류청로)과 함께 향파 이주홍 선생의 해양인문학 정신을 보존, 공유하기 위해 해양인문학 자료, 강의 노트, 표지화 등 80여 점의 자료를 오는 30일까지 전시한다. 지역주민 등 누구나 관람할 수 있다.

향파 이주홍 선생은 우리나라 근대 아동문학을 이끈 작가로 꼽힌다. 1928년 「신소년」에 첫 동화 ‘배암새끼의 무도(舞蹈)’를 발표하고, 1929년 조선일보에 첫 단편소설 ‘가난과 결혼’으로 문단에 등단했다.

그는 시와 소설뿐만 아니라 수필, 희곡, 동시, 동화, 번역 등 문학 전반에 걸쳐 왕성한 활동으로 한국 문학사에 큰 업적을 남긴 것으로 평가받는다. 대한민국 문화훈장, 대한민국 예술원상, 부산시문화상 등을 수상했다.

특히 이주홍 선생은 1949년부터 국립부경대학교의 전신인 부산수산대학교 교수로 재직하면서 1987년까지 40년 가까이 후학을 양성한 바 있다.

한편 오는 24일에는 국립부경대 중앙도서관 2층 영상세미나실에서 ‘향파 일기에 나타난 문화사적 의미’를 주제로 한 이주홍 학술 세미나와 제44회 이주홍문학상 시상식도 열릴 예정이다. <부경투데이>

A special exhibition on Hyangpa Lee Joo-Hong to be held at PKNU

On May 13, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) held the opening ceremony for the 'Hyangpa Lee Joo-Hong special exhibition' in the gallery lounge on the first floor of the Core competency library.

In celebration of its 100th anniversary this year, Pukyong National University, in collaboration with the Lee Joo-Hong literary foundation (chairperson Ryu Cheong-Ro), is hosting an exhibition to preserve and share the maritime humanities spirit of Hyangpa Lee Joo-Hong, featuring over 80 items, including maritime humanities materials, lecture notes, and cover art, and running until the 30th. It is open to the public, including local residents.

Hyangpa Lee Joo-Hong is considered a leading writer of modern children's literature in Korea. In 1928, he published his first fairy tale, 'The dance of the young snake' in the magazine 「Shin-sonyeon」, and in 1929, he made his literary debut with his first short story, 'Poverty and marriage' in the Chosun Ilbo.

He is evaluated as having made great achievements in the history of Korean literature through his prolific activities in all areas of literature, including not only poetry and novels, but also essays, plays, children's poems, fairy tales, and translations. He has received awards such as the Korean cultural merit, the Korean academy of arts awards, and the cultural award of Busan metropolitan city.

Notably, from 1949 until 1987, Lee Ju-Hong served as a professor at the National fisheries university of Busan, the predecessor of Pukyong National University where he dedicated nearly 40 years to educating future generations.

Meanwhile, on the 24th, Pukyong National University will host an academic seminar titled 'The cultural-historical significance in Hyangpa's diaries' and the 44th Lee Joo-Hong literary award ceremony in the video seminar room on the second floor of the Central library. <Pukyong Today>
