국립부경대, ‘바다 위 캠퍼스’ 개방해 지역주민 항해 체험행사 개최

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 10월 17일 부산 용호만 매립부두에서 지역주민 160여 명이 참가한 가운데 ‘제3회 지역주민과 함께하는 국립부경대 Open-Ship’ 행사를 개최했다.
국립부경대는 주요 교육·연구 자원인 실습선과 탐사선을 활용해 지역주민들에게 바다를 깊이 있게 체험하는 기회를 제공하기 위해 해마다 이 행사를 열고 있다.
국립부경대는 이날 수산과학대학(학장 김영목) 소속 첨단 실습선인 백경호(선장 김수형·3,997t)와 첨단 탐사선 나라호(선장 이준호·1,494t) 등 선박 2척을 지역주민들에게 개방했다.
백경호에서 진행된 행사에는 지역주민 120여 명이 승무원 30여 명의 안내를 받아 용호만 매립부두에 정박한 선박에 올랐다. 이들은 실습생 침실, 강의실, 생활공간 등 해기사와 수·해양 전문 인재를 양성하는 교육시설들을 둘러보고, 선교(브릿지), 갑판, 기관 제어실 등을 견학했다.
지역주민들은 선내 견학에 이어 백경호를 타고 부두에서 출항해 광안대교와 해운대 동백섬, 이기대, 오륙도 일대를 항해하며 선상에서 부산 바다 명소를 체험했다.
탐사선인 나라호에서 진행된 행사에는 지역주민 40여 명과 승무원 20여 명이 승선한 가운데, 국립부경대와 서울대 등 전국 7개 대학이 운영하는 해양 교육 프로그램 안내와 실제 해양탐사에 사용되는 첨단 탐사 장비 체험 프로그램이 진행됐다. 이 선박에 승선한 지역주민들은 바다 위 제자리에서 360도 선회하며 운항하는 특수기능도 체험했다.
한편, 국립부경대의 실습선과 탐사선을 활용한 견학 및 방문 행사에는 연간 8~900여 명의 학생, 지역주민들이 참가하고 있으며, 대학은 다양한 체험행사를 더욱 확대해 나갈 계획이다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-Hoon) held the 3rd “Pukyong National University Open-Ship with the Local Community” event on October 17 at the Yongho Bay Reclamation Pier in Busan, with over 160 local residents participating.
This annual event offers local residents an opportunity to experience the sea in depth by opening the university’s key educational and research resources―its training and research vessels.
On this day, Pukyong National University opened two advanced vessels from its College of Fisheries Science (Dean Kim Young-Mok) to the public: the training ship Baek Kyung-ho (Captain Kim Su-Hyung, 3,997 tons) and the advanced research vessel Nara-ho (Captain Lee Jun-Ho, 1,494 tons).
Onboard the Baek Kyung-ho, approximately 120 local residents were guided by around 30 crew members as they boarded the ship docked at the Yongho Bay Reclamation Pier. Participants toured the ship’s educational facilities designed for training maritime and ocean science professionals, including student dormitories, lecture rooms, and living quarters. They also explored key operational areas such as the bridge, deck, and engine control room.
Following the onboard tour, residents set sail aboard the Paek Kyung-ho, navigating around some of Busan’s iconic coastal landmarks, including Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Dongbaekseom Island in Haeundae, Igidae, and Oryukdo Islets, experiencing the beauty of the Busan sea from on board.
Aboard the Nara-ho, an exploration vessel, approximately 40 local residents and 20 crew members participated in a variety of hands-on programs. The event included an introduction to marine education programs jointly operated by seven universities nationwide, including Pukyong National University and Seoul National University, as well as experiences with advanced ocean exploration equipment actually used in the field. Participants also had the rare opportunity to witness and experience the vessel’s 360-degree stationary rotation maneuver on open water.
Meanwhile, 800 to 900 students and local residents participate annually in Pukyong National University’s ship-based tours and visits aboard its training and exploration vessels. The university plans to further expand these experiential programs to offer more opportunities for marine education and outreach. <Pukyong Today>
