국립부경대 배상훈 총장, 사재 출연해 80주년 대학에 1억 쾌척
- 개교 80주년 기부 릴레이에 8번째 기부자로 나서

“국립부경대학교가 해양수도 부산을 대표하며 세계로 도약하는 마중물이 되기를 바랍니다.”
국립부경대 배상훈 총장이 개교 80주년을 맞아 대학의 발전을 위해 1억 원을 쾌척했다.
배상훈 총장은 3월 16일 오전 국립부경대 대학본부 접견실에서 발전기금 전달식을 하고, 대학이 펼치고 있는 개교 80주년 기부 릴레이의 8번째 주자로 동참했다.
배상훈 총장은 “우리 대학은 대한민국 최초의 수산 고등교육기관과 근대식 공업기술 교육기관으로 출발해, 종합국립대학 최초의 통합이라는 역사적 결단을 통해 우리나라를 대표하는 대학으로 성장해 왔다”며, “오랜 역사 속에서 축적된 학문적 전통과 혁신의 정신을 바탕으로 우리는 시대의 변화에 능동적으로 대응하며, 미래 사회와 산업을 선도하는 강한 국립대학으로 도약하는 데 더욱 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
국립부경대의 개교 80주년 기부 릴레이에는 앞서 전 총동창회장인 정용표 ㈜케이에이엠 대표이사, 박필선 세영식품(주) 대표, 부경CEO아카데미 원우회, 총동창회장인 박세호 우주씰링스그룹 회장, 금대수 꿈잡끼교육네트웍스 이사장, BNK금융그룹, 정대규 ㈜인리치인재교육원 대표이사가 동참한 바 있다.
배상훈 총장은 대학 통합 이후 제8대 총장이라는 상징성을 고려해 기부 릴레이에 8번째 주자로 나섰다.
배상훈 총장은 “국립부경대는 올해 개교 80주년, 통합 30주년이라는 역사적 기점을 맞아, ‘용기와 혁신, 도전으로 미래를 여는 강한 대학’이라는 비전을 바탕으로 한 단계 더 도약에 나선다. 새로운 시대를 열어 나가기 위한 대학의 혁신 노력에 많은 분들의 관심과 성원을 부탁드린다”고 강조했다.
국립부경대는 기부 릴레이를 통한 발전기금을 활용해 미래 비전 실현 전략인 연구중심대학, AX혁신대학, 글로벌혁신대학 구축과 해양수도인 부산의 동반자로서 활약을 이어갈 계획이다. <부경투데이>

President Sang-Hoon Bae of Pukyong National University has donated KRW 100 million to support the university’s development in celebration of its 80th anniversary.
On the morning of March 16, President Sang-Hoon Bae held a development fund donation ceremony at the president’s reception room in Pukyong National University’s main administration building, joining as the eighth contributor to the university’s ongoing 80th Anniversary Donation Relay.
President Sang-Hoon Bae stated, “Our university was founded as Korea’s first higher education institution in fisheries and a modern industrial technology institute and has grown into a leading national university through the historic decision to become the first comprehensive national university formed through integration.” He added, “Building on our long-standing academic tradition and spirit of innovation, we will continue to respond proactively to the changing times and strive to leap forward as a strong national university that leads future society and industry.”
Prior to this, the 80th Anniversary Donation Relay of Pukyong National University had been joined by several contributors, including former Alumni Association President Yong-Pyo Jung, CEO of KAM Co., Ltd.; Pil-Sun Park, CEO of Seyoung Food Co., Ltd.; the PKNU CEO Academy Alumni Association; current Alumni Association President Se-Ho Park, Chairman of Wooju Sealings Group; Dae-Su Geum, Chairman of Dream Jobggi Education Networks; BNK Financial Group; and Dae-Gyu Jung, CEO of Enrich Talent Education Institute Co., Ltd..
President Sang-Hoon Bae joined the donation relay as the eighth contributor, reflecting the symbolic significance of being the eighth president since the university’s integration.
President Sang-Hoon Bae emphasized, “As Pukyong National University marks the historic milestones of its 80th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of its integration this year, we are taking another step forward based on our vision of becoming ‘a strong university that opens the future through courage, innovation, and challenge.’ We ask for your continued interest and support for the university’s efforts toward innovation as we move into a new era.”
Pukyong National University plans to utilize the development fund raised through the donation relay to advance its future vision, including the establishment of a research-oriented university, an AX innovation university, and a globally innovative university, while continuing to serve as a key partner in the development of Busan as a maritime capital.
