국립부경대, ‘산업 데이터 양자컴퓨팅 전환’ 사업 참여기관 선정

- KETI 주관 170억 원 프로젝트 … 양자컴퓨터 최적 매칭 플랫폼 구축 담당


국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)가 산업통상자원부의 ‘2026년도 2차 산업혁신기반구축사업’ 공모에서 ‘산업 데이터 양자컴퓨팅 전환·활용 지원 플랫폼’ 과제 참여기관으로 선정됐다.

국립부경대는 한국전자기술연구원(KETI)이 주관하고 성남시가 지원하는 이번 과제에 한림대학교와 함께 공동연구기관으로 참여한다.

오는 7월부터 2030년까지 4년 6개월간 진행되는 이 과제는 정부지원금 100억 원을 비롯해 참여기관과 성남시의 지원금 등 총 169억 6천만 원이 투입되는 대규모 프로젝트다.

이 과제는 기업들이 고가의 양자 관련 장비가 없이도 클라우드로 양자컴퓨팅을 활용할 수 있는 국가 기반 플랫폼을 구축해 제공하는 것이 목표다. 

국내 양자컴퓨터 시장은 지난해 3,754억 원에서 2034년 1조 4,544억 원으로 성장할 것으로 전망되면서, 이 같은 인프라가 구축되면 기업들은 양자컴퓨터 등 하드웨어를 직접 구축하지 않고도 플랫폼을 공동 활용해 기술 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

KETI가 양자-고전 하이브리드 클라우드 통합 플랫폼 구축을 맡고, 국립부경대가 양자 알고리즘과 양자컴퓨터 최적 매칭 플랫폼 구축, 한림대가 산업 데이터를 양자 형태로 변환하는 임베딩 플랫폼 구축에 나선다.

국립부경대 연구팀(책임교수 한영선, 컴퓨터·인공지능공학부)은 기업들이 입력한 산업 문제를 데이터 특성과 알고리즘 유형에 따라 최적의 양자컴퓨터와 연결하는 핵심 기술을 개발한다. 이를 위해 한영선·김훈희·김태국·이양원·오상호·박희철·유승호·황상원·우솔아 교수 등 컴퓨터·인공지능공학부를 비롯해 위성정보융합공학전공, 물리학과, 전자공학전공 교수진과 연구원을 대거 투입하고, 양자AI연구소 등 관련 인프라를 적극 활용할 계획이다.

특히 이 연구팀은 부산과 동남권의 미래 전략으로 북극항로 개척이 주목받는 가운데 지역 강점 산업과 연계한 물류, 해양, 조선 산업 분야의 양자컴퓨팅 활용 사례 실증도 추진한다.

이번 과제는 수도권(KETI)과 동남권(국립부경대), 강원권(한림대)을 산업 지원 거점으로 구축함으로써 기업의 양자컴퓨팅 접근성을 확대해 산업 경쟁력을 강화하고, 양자 실무인력 양성 및 지역 양자 산업 생태계를 활성화하는 계기가 될 전망이다. <부경투데이>

 

 

Pukyong National University Selected to Participate in ‘Industrial Data Quantum Computing Transition’ Project

― KRW 17 Billion Project Led by KETI … University to Develop an Optimal Quantum Computer Matching Platform

 

Pukyong National University (President Sang-Hoon Bae) has been selected as a participating institution for the ‘Industrial Data Quantum Computing Transition and Utilization Support Platform’ project under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s second call for the ‘2026 Industrial Innovation Infrastructure Development Program.’

 

Pukyong National University will participate as a joint research institution alongside Hallym University in the project, which is led by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) and supported by Seongnam City.

 

Scheduled to run for four years and six months, from this July through 2030, the large-scale project will receive a total investment of KRW 16.96 billion, including KRW 10 billion in government funding as well as contributions from the participating institutions and Seongnam City.

 

The project aims to establish and provide a national infrastructure platform that enables companies to access quantum computing through the cloud without investing in expensive quantum-related equipment.

 

With South Korea’s quantum computing market projected to grow from KRW 375.4 billion last year to KRW 1.4544 trillion by 2034, the new infrastructure is expected to help companies strengthen their technological competitiveness by sharing access to the platform without having to build quantum computers or other hardware independently.

 

KETI will develop an integrated quantum-classical hybrid cloud platform, while Pukyong National University will build a platform for optimally matching quantum algorithms with quantum computers. Hallym University will develop an embedding platform that converts industrial data into a quantum-compatible format.

 

The Pukyong National University research team, led by Professor Young-Sun Han of the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, will develop a core technology that connects industrial problems submitted by companies to the most suitable quantum computers based on data characteristics and algorithm types. To carry out the project, the university plans to mobilize a large team of faculty members and researchers from the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, the Major of Satellite Information Convergence Engineering, the Department of Physics, and the Major of Electronic Engineering. The team will include Professors Young-Sun Han, Hoon-Hee Kim, Tae-Kook Kim, Yang-Won Lee, Sang-Ho Oh, Hee-Chul Park, Seung-Ho Yoo, Sang-Won Hwang, and Sol-Ah Woo, and will actively utilize related infrastructure, including the Quantum AI Research Institute.

 

In particular, as the development of the Arctic shipping route gains attention as a future strategic initiative for Busan and the southeastern region, the research team will also conduct demonstrations of quantum computing applications in logistics, maritime, and shipbuilding industries linked to the region’s key industrial strengths.

 

By establishing industrial support hubs in the Seoul metropolitan area through KETI, the southeastern region through Pukyong National University, and the Gangwon region through Hallym University, the project is expected to expand companies’ access to quantum computing and strengthen industrial competitiveness. It is also anticipated to serve as a catalyst for cultivating practice-oriented quantum professionals and revitalizing regional quantum industry ecosystems.
