PKNU has been selected as ’Link Plus Business’ for 25 billion won
- "Creating a new paradigm for university-industry and founding platform"

 Pukyong National University was selected as a leader in the development of university-affiliated university-affiliated universities (Link Plus, LINC +).

 On April 17, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation announced that they have selected 99 universities across the nation, including PKNU and 55 colleges and universities, for Link Plus.

 The project is the largest university funding project in Korea, with a total investment of KRW 1.6 trillion over five years. The project will cost KRW 327.1 billion this year alone.

 As a result, PKNU will receive a total of 25 billion won worth of 5 billion won annually until February 2022, establishing an autonomous industry-university cooperation model based on the university’s vision, conditions, and characteristics, The plan is to create a new paradigm for the towing university.

 The major projects of Pukyongdae Link plus (Prof. Seo Yong-cheol, professor of Civil Engineering, photo) are: △ construction of Dragon Valley innovation space and integration of specialized industrial clusters in stages, △ marine fusion and convergence IT components Cultivating talented human resources specialized in the fields of materials, marine and fisheries biotechnology, and cultivating human resources for future fusion that leads the era of the establishment and the fourth industrial revolution.

 Pukyong National University will build an industry-university cooperation university based on the new industrial campus, △ create a sustainable local industrial ecosystem by cultivating human resources in a society-friendly industrial-academic cooperation, △ create an industry-university cooperation and a dragon valley of establishment, Establishing innovative and creative industry-university cooperation clusters in which universities and companies will grow together, △ strengthening university competitiveness through specialization and structural reform, and contributing to the local.

 In particular, due to the selection of this project, PKNU, which has two campuses including Dae Yeon campus, has opened the 310,000 yard campus to BU.UL.GYEONG corporations as a whole. As a result, the establishment of the Dragon Valley project, which is an industry-academia-university innovation campus, has become more active.

 Currently, Yongdang campus has a business incubation center, a Busan Business Support Center, a university-college research institute (URP), and more than 700 employees of 250 companies, which generate annual sales of 30 billion won. It is emerging as a platform for industry-academia cooperation and entrepreneurship.

 Suh Yong-cheol said, "Through this project, we will do our best to create future growth engines by nurturing manpower to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution, strengthening university competitiveness, and linking with companies and local communities."
 
 In addition, 11 universities including PKNU, Kyungnam University, Kyungsang University, Tongmyung University, Dongseo University, Dong-a University, Dong-eui University, Ulsan University, Inje University, Changwon University and Korea Maritime University were selected for this project.

 The number of universities that submitted business applications was 189 in the nation (104 university, 85 for college). During the selection process, each university fiercely competed in the evaluation of the first stage formula, the evaluation of the second stage business plan, and the deliberation and confirmation of the third stage business management committee. <Pukyong Today>


△ Last month (March) Minister Choi Yang-hee of Future Creation Science Department visited Yongdang Campus to look around the companies and facilities. Choi emphasized that Pukyong University's industry-academia cooperation and start-ups are ideal.
