'A celebration', PKNU entered 2nd stage of large-scale national financial support project in succession
PKNU, selected as the 2nd stage in the 'LINC Plus Business' and 'Project for 4th Industrial Revolution Innovative University'.

Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) was finally selected on April 10 for the 2nd phase of the Project for 4th Industrial Revolution Innovative University (Linc Plus•LINC+) and the '4th Industrial Revolution Innovative University' sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF).

As a result, Pukyong National University plans to increase the university's competitiveness and cultivating talented human resources and industry-university cooperation by raising 16.5 billion won worth of government subsidy, including 5.5 billion won every year for the next three years until 2021,

'LINC Plus Business' is a national financial support project for strengthening university-industry-university cooperation capability, leading to regional development and cultivating talented individuals customized for companies.

Pukyong National University, which was selected as an industry-academy cooperation-enhancing sector in LINC Plus Business In 2017, plans to participate in the second stage of the project and to contribute to the creation of a sustainable regional industrial ecosystem through the cultivation of talents in social-friendly industries.

The '4th Industrial Revolution Innovative University Project' is the only business operated by Pukyong National University in the southeastern area to cultivate talented people in the promising fields of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Pukyong National University will cultivate a new industrial field called Smart healthcare and nurture IT engineers who have ability to develop convergence technologies in the super-aged society. The university plans to do its best to educate, research, industry-academia cooperation in the field of smart health care by providing convergence-linked curriculum and creating an on-site working-type maker infrastructure on campus.

Seo Yong-cheol, the director of Industry-Academy Cooperation Foundation at Pukyong National University, said, "Through the second phase of the project, we will do our best to strengthen the structure and constitution of the university in cooperation with industry and academia to realize the goal of nurturing talented people and leading regional economic development."

"We will focus on training future talents that will lead the 4th industrial revolution and high-tech medical industry through innovative medical engineering education," said An Ye-chan, the director of the 4th Industrial Revolution Innovative University project of Pukyong National University, "Especially, we will put more effort for institutional support that will allow students to internalize innovative university education that is the subject of education and spread it throughout the university. <Pukyong Today>
