PKNU invests 600 million won for Fine dust Master and Doctor training Pukyong National University has been selected as the 'Fine Dust Management Specialized Graduate School Project' by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI) and operates a fine dust specialized graduate school from September. The fine dust management specialized graduate school project is a support project to cultivate master's and doctoral-level experts in the fields of fine dust reduction, forecasting, and monitoring, and to revitalize regional industry-academia-linked research. Pukyong National University, Chung-Ang University, and Hanseo University have been selected for this project. With the selection of this project, Pukyong National University will sequentially open a graduate school specialized in fine dust, which is a convergence and fusion educational program in which 3 departments, including Combined Departments of Environmental Engineering, Department of Environmental Atmospheric Sciences and Department of Spatial Information Engineering participate, and from this month to August 2023, the university will invest 600 million won for next 3 years. The Specialized Graduate School of Fine dust began operating a specialized curriculum consisting of three tracks: fine dust reduction and management, measurement and modeling, and remote monitoring with the aim of cultivating industry-specific experts for fine dust management considering the characteristics of offshore cities in the southeastern region.
Noh Young-min (Combined Departments of Environmental Engineering · Photo on the left) , a professor in charge of the project, said, "It is expected that students who have completed the course will be able to work as experts by directly entering the industrial fields related to fine dust by operating a specialized curriculum by fully utilizing the human and material infrastructure of Pukyong National University, which has a separate college in the field of environment." <Pukyong Today> |
