부경대학교가 용당캠퍼스에 있는 공과대학을 오는 2018년 대연캠퍼스로 완전 이전한다.
10일 부경대는 공과대학 이전을 위해 대연캠퍼스에 총사업비 530억 원대의 대규모 첨단공학건물 2개 동을 신축하는 사업을 본격화하고 있다고 밝혔다.
부경대는 지난 7일 오후 4시 김영섭 총장 등이 참석한 가운데 대연캠퍼스 백경동산 옆 부지에 융복합 실험실습강의동 신축공사 기공식을 가졌다. 이에 앞서 지난해 11월부터는 이 부지 바로 옆에 융복합공학관 신축공사가 진행 중이다.
서로 이웃한 이 ‘형제건물’ 2개 동은 각각 지하 1층 지상 13층으로 오는 2018년 6월 완공된다. 두 건물을 합친 연면적은 26,156㎡, 총사업비는 531억4천만 원에 달한다.
이 건물들이 다 지어지면 지금 용당캠퍼스에 남아있는 공대 11개 학과들이 이곳으로 옮겨온다.
이 사업은 부경대가 대학 경쟁력 강화를 위해 대연캠퍼스를 교육·연구중심 캠퍼스로, 용당캠퍼스를 산학연 혁신캠퍼스로 특성화해 발전시킨다는 야심찬 계획에 따른 것이다. 공과대 20개 학과 중 9개 학과는 이미 대연캠퍼스로 이사했다.
학과 이전이 완료되면 1986년 시작된 용당캠퍼스 공과대학 시대는 32년 만에 막을 내린다. 대신 부경대는 330,605㎡에 달하는 방대한 용당캠퍼스의 공간을 산학협력, 창업 등의 공간으로 부산 울산 경남 등 기업들에게 통째로 개방한다.
부산연구개발특구이자 영남권 유일의 신기술창업집적지역, 부산 유일의 연구마을이 들어선 용당캠퍼스에는 현재 200여개 기업들이 입주해 있다. 부경대는 부산시와 함께 용당캠퍼스를 부산지역 경제와 산업 고도화할 대학 산학연 연구단지(URP)로 조성해 글로벌 강소기업들을 키워낼 계획이다.
이와 함께 부경대는 도심의 평지 캠퍼스라는 장점을 가진 대연캠퍼스를 매력적인 교육·연구 중심 명품 캠퍼스로 특화한다.
대연캠퍼스는 지방 최초의 행복(연합)기숙사 신축 등으로 4,700여명이 이용할 수 있는 대규모 학생생활관을 완비한다. 인조잔디구장의 대운동장과 직장어린이집 등을 완공한 데 이어 수영장을 갖춘 스포츠콤플렉스 등 교육·연구와 구성원 복지를 위한 시설 확충사업이 활발하게 진행되고 있다.<부경투데이>
The College of Engineering Moves into Daeyeon Campus
- Yongdang Campus opens to companies
The College of Engineering, now located on the Yongdang Campus of Pukyong National University, is moving its nest to the Daeyeon Campus by 2018.
On October 10, PKNU announced that two cutting-edge engineering buildings are starting to be constructed on the Daeyeon Campus on an area of 26,156 square meters at a cost of ₩53,140,000,000.
On October 7 at 4 pm, groundbreaking ceremony for the Convergence Laboratory was held at the site beside Baekyeong Hill, where construction of the Convergence Engineering Building is in progress.
These two neighboring buildings will have thirteen stories above ground and one below, respectively, and aimed to be completed by June 2018.
PKNU intends to develop competitiveness of the University by creating two specialized campuses: the Daeyeon Campus concentrating on the education and research, and the Yongdang Campus focusing on the Industry-University Cooperation. Nine of twenty departments within the College of Engineering have already moved their offices and lecture rooms from the Yongdang Campus into the Daeyeon Campus. After the completion of the buildings, remaining eleven departments will finish moving the headquarters.
Once the relocation of every department is completed, the College of Engineering, which opened the door on the Yongdang Campus in 1986, says goodbye to its old home after 32 years. Instead, the campus that spreads across 330,605 square meters opens entirely for cooperation and startup of companies from Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam Region.
Now in Yongdang Campus, as the Special Busan Research & Development Area as well as the only area for New Technology Startup and the Research Village in the Southeastern region, about two hundred companies have moved in to create a University Research Park, which can help enhance the economy and industry of Busan area. .
On the other hand, the University plans to make the Daeyeon campus as a specialized campus for research and education. It will encompass large dormitory complex that is capable of housing 4,700 people. In addition to the completion of artificial turf soccer field and on-campus daycare center, PKNU is under way to enlarge its infrastructure for research, education and welfare of the University members. <Pukyong Today>
