| Pukyong National University has been selected as the Yeongnam districts business team of 2013 Science Creativity Ambassador
- Conducted by Korean Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity (KOFAC)…Science lectures for schools and social welfare organizations in Yeongnam districts will be provided.
Pukyong National University was selected as the Yeongnam districts local business team for the 2013 Science Creativity Ambassador.The aim of this business is to improve understanding of science technology for people and to support teenager’s career exploration and advancement to natural sciences and the field of engineering.
As the university was selected as a part of the team project, Pukyong will conduct science lecture tours for teenagers in primary, middle, and high schools and social welfare organizations throughout Yeongnam districts including Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do. They will also provide a visiting lecture which will make full use of national science museums, their facilities, and their program content such as Limitless Imagination Visiting Class.
Therefore, Pukyong National University will appoint professionals as Science Creativity Ambassadors who are actually working in the science and technology field: Pukyong A+ LINC Business team in the Industry - University Collaboration Team, corporation supporting team in Busan Techno Park which is related to the Intellectual Property Education team, Busan branch of Invention Promotion Association, and Southern Busan branch of Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
In addition to that, PKNU will build an online lecture system with the lectures which will be available not only to school students, but also for the general public as a lifelong education contents.
PKNU will conduct 220 lectures and 10 Limitless Imagination Visits which means a total of 230 lectures. Furthermore, KOFAC will donate 91million won to PKNU for these programs.
"This business has been designed to improve the understanding of scientific technology for teenagers by offering customized science lectures. For this, we are recruiting Science Creativity Ambassadors from various fields such as engineering and fisheries. I hope many professionals will attend this project and have a chance to help to raise awareness of science," the leader of the business team, Yun Gil-soo from the Ocean Engineering Department, said. <Pukyong Today>
